Starting her athletic career as a swimmer, Clara Carvalho discovered Olympic distance triathlon in her youth. She soon realised the quality of her talent, taking bronze at the World Triathlon Championship in Cozumel, in the junior category. In 2017, she debuted as an U23 and soon began mixing it up with the elites. Known as “Quietinha”, meaning ‘quiet girl’, Carvalho has been calmly getting on with the task of gathering important podium spots on the national circuit and adding to her results sheet a second placing at the South American Sprint Triathlon championships in Uruguay, and a win at the American Cup Triathlon in Fortaleza.
