I recently bought the new Ultravox SSL frameset after my old Ultravox TI had to be retired, just in time for a trip to the French Alps to ride all the iconic cat 1 & HC climbs with a few friends. The first thing I noticed, particularly jumping onto my new bike (Ultravox SSL), is just how stiff yet comfortable the bike is and how much power I was able to transfer directly into speed as I pushed on the pedals. In straight lines, the bike felt just as smooth and quick as any aero-specific road bike that my friends were riding. But the real joy in my Swift is its responsiveness through corners. Swooping around bends on Alpine descents felt natural to this bike. There was no twitchiness or nervousness about taking corners at speed and I felt in my element descending on it and even managed to claim a top 50 spot out of over 13,000 descending the Telegraphe on strava. My Ultravox SSL felt great on the climbs and even after a 6 hour day and 2982m later I was still extremely comfortable in the saddle, this bike can certainly hold its own against other big brands, Giant, Scott, Colnago etc that my friends where riding. In 8 days I managed to get a lot of kilometres (400) in on the Ultravox SSL and over 11,000m of ascent, it is a bike I just love to ride. The frame is certainly one of the best around, my new Ultravox SSL manages to present both performance and comfort in one package. If you’re looking for a machine to take on any kind of event or terrain, or even to build up to your dream bike, then it’s hard to look past what Swift is offering with the Ultravox SSL. Will this bike make you ride as good as Pro, probably not! We bought two Ultravox bikes and we're 100% delighted with them. We found reviews of the Ultravox online, then we looked into Swiftcarbon, then we started looking into the bikes in more detail, finally we went to the NEC cycle show to try them out. These bikes are quick, comfortable, precise, responsive, and they look great. What the online reviews say is accurate and real. Everyone we've dealt with at Swiftcarbon has been good too. The buying process was pretty straightforward - we paid by bank transfer. One small glitch was that the tracking ref didn't work - but it wasn't a problem because we telephoned Dachser UK, who identified the shipments, and via them we were able to arrange delivery. Bikes arrived in superb bullet proof boxes and only the handle bars and front wheel had to be installed to get them up and running. These are great bikes, great value, and they look professional and well made - good paintwork. We're long standing club road cyclists and we use these bikes for our club road rides - they are significantly quicker than our old bikes. 100% happy and we thoroughly recommend the Ultravox - don't think about it, just get one!
